Clinical Psychology

As a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Louise also offers psychological services for children, young people and their families via The Chelsea Psychology Clinic at their clinic in Sloane Square, London. Louise accepts both self-paying and insurance funded clients.

In her work, she draws upon a range of psychological approaches to create a shared understanding of the current difficulties. From this, Louise then works with the family to develop a plan for therapeutic intervention to suit the child and the family’s needs.

From her experience working within the NHS, Louise has worked with a range of mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression & low mood, phobias, anger & behavioural challenges, low self-confidence and self-esteem. She has particular expertise in working with children and young people with physical health conditions (including irritable bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, liver disease and transplantation) supporting them with adjusting to illness, medication adherence, and coping with difficult symptoms including pain.

Following initial contact, Louise will offer a free 30 minute consultation telephone call. This will provide an opportunity to better understand the current concerns and wishes of the family and to ensure that Louise is the best professional to provide support at this time.

At the first appointment, Louise will meet with the family to find out more about the family and the current difficulties or concerns. It may also be helpful to complete some questionnaires or psychological measures. If felt appropriate by the family and Louise, a shared plan will be developed for therapeutic intervention based on the child or young person’s goals.

Most interventions involve the child or young person meeting with Louise on a weekly basis, including regular reviews with parents or caregivers. Families are also able to stay in contact with me by telephone or email.
